QUEEN SELECTION AND HANDOVER OF KEYS
The selection of the Queen of the Rijeka Carnival opens the Rijeka Carnival, where masquerades choose the most charming representative. The candidates compete for the "Golden Cape" and the title of Queen with carnival, dance and witty artistry. After the election, the mayor hands over the keys to the Carnival Master, marking the beginning of carnival madness.
CHILDREN'S CARNIVAL PARADE
The youngest generations flood Rijeka's Korzo in a colorful masked procession. Fairy tale characters and imaginative creations attract visitors from all over the world. The children's carnival parade, planned for January 27, 2024, maintains tradition and ensures that the spirit of masquerade lives on and is passed on to future generations.
INTERNATIONAL CARNIVAL PARADE
With the renewal of the Rijeka Carnival in 1982, the city became a European carnival center. The International Carnival Parade brings together a variety of groups that interpret social events.
