When December lights up the streets with thousands of lights, the city becomes a fairy tale – filled with song, laughter and togetherness. In the wooden houses along the promenades, the scents of local dishes and sweets spread, and visitors can find handicrafts, art and souvenirs.

Rijeka comes alive at that time – the stages are filled with music, dance and performances for all generations, while the city's restaurants and taverns offer indigenous specialties. The peak of the holiday spirit is brought by the traditional charity breakfast on Christmas Eve, when everyone gathers with cod, fritters and smiles.

This year's Advent in Rijeka lasts from November 29, 2025 to January 11, 2026 , and the entire city transforms into the scene of a fairy-tale holiday story.

PROMENADE OF MEETINGS
The heart of Rijeka comes alive again in full splendor every winter. Two rows of Advent huts in front of the Ri Department Store offer handicrafts, homemade products and sweets, creating a distinctive Rijeka holiday spirit.

ENTERTAINMENT RESOLUTION
One of the liveliest spots of Advent, ideal for socializing with music, the smell of mulled wine, and a rich gastronomic offer. The warm atmosphere and urban rhythm make it an indispensable place to gather with friends.

CITY OF LIGHT
A true winter fairy tale unfolds at Rijeka's most famous viewpoint. Thousands of lights, thematic workshops and family programs create an unforgettable experience for all generations.

RIVA OF EXPERIENCES
This year's Gat Advent begins on November 22nd with the lighting of the lights and a grand opening with the Supercover band and DJ Modrix. Visitors can expect free admission throughout the event, a diverse program, quiz nights with prizes, and family days with rich children's content. Gat Advent once again brings music, entertainment, and a festive atmosphere for all generations.

EXPORT ICE BOX
For the first time this year, an ice rink with more than 500 m² of ice will be opened in the Exportdrvo indoor area, available from November 29, 2025 to January 11, 2026. Visitors can expect a rich program with animations, holiday events, Disco on Ice and a skating school for the youngest. The entire experience will be complemented by a catering offer with delicious fritters and warm cocktails, including a special “Snow White” cocktail.

ART QUARTZ MAGIC
This year, the Benčić Art District is once again bringing an interactive Advent experience filled with creative workshops, craft fairs and a rich family program. From December 13 to 20, visitors can expect more than 50 activities – from LEGO programming, 3D printing and cookie making to special programs for retirees and a December film repertoire. All workshops and events are free, and Benčić is once again becoming the most creative Advent destination in the city.

QUARTERS OF LIGHT
Advent in Rijeka is getting a new, more festive look this year with special holiday lighting that will transform the city's neighborhoods into magical, luminous oases. Lights and decorations will brighten up the everyday lives of residents of Drenova, Gornja Vežica, Kantrida, Pehlin, Podmurvice, Podvežica, Srdoč, Sveti Nikola, Škurinje and Zamet.
